OUR FAITH/OUR BELIEFS
The United Church of Canada was formed in 1925 by the union of three denominations of the Protestant church: Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregationalist. It was later joined (1968) by the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

WORSHIP SERVICE
Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary
We gather on Sunday mornings to celebrate God’s presence with us and to learn of God’s purpose for us and for the world. The encounter with God brings hope, renewal, courage, and strength to God’s people. We meet God through the hearing and preaching of God’s Word given to us in the church’s book, the Bible; through the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper that unite us with Jesus Christ; through the gift of music in the singing of hymns and sacred songs traditional and contemporary and the offering of praise by choir and organ; through the quiet intimacy of prayer and meditation; and through the joyful fellowship of Christians with one another.
We are always happy to welcome visitors and newcomers to our worship services.
COMMUNION
The Sacrament of Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, gathers us into the saving work of Jesus Christ, which culminated in his sacrificial death upon the cross. We know and receive him at the table in the sharing of bread and wine, symbols of his body broken and blood poured out for the life of the world. Through the Holy Spirit, we are united with Christ in this act and are given hope in his coming reign on earth. On Communion Sundays, we welcome all Christians regardless of age, denomination, or status of membership to participate in the Sacrament.
Communion is celebrated six times per year during Sunday morning worship.
BAPTISMS
Baptisms of infants and children are conducted throughout the year during the Sunday morning service. Parents who are baptized may present their children for baptism after attending a preparation class. The class focuses on the meaning of baptism, its place in the life of the church, and on how to raise our children in the Christian faith. Parents who are not baptized will be asked to take adult baptism classes that deal with similar issues and will be baptized with their children.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Our Sunday School is both affirming and exciting, committed to teaching children that God is always with us.
- Little Lambs (ages 3-4) at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary
- School Age Children at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary
- Youth Group (ages 12 and older)
Children ages 2 and up first attend the worship service in the sanctuary before departing for class.
NURSERY
Supervised care for children under the age of 3 years is available in the nursery. Should children become restless during worship, parents may wish to care for their children in the Crying Room, where the service is received through closed-circuit television. An usher will be pleased to direct you to either location.
CHOIR
